I think planning and making things for the house was more fun for the kids than actually playing Barbies!

Unexpected Summer Projects
Because of a few unexpected events, this past summer did not go as planned. Instead of a summer catching up on quilts and other projects, I had a lot more time with grandchildren. What started as a simple Barbie house turned into a fun summer project with lots of Barbie sewing! Unexpected, but lots of fun!

Summer Dress
Here's a cute easy summer dress for a beautiful little girl.
I used New Look Pattern # 6205. I made the pattern with no changes except added eyelet lace and buttons. This pattern was super simple and looks great!

Easter Dresses
My daughter in law picked the style and fabric for these cute Easter dresses. Not as cute as the little girls that wore them, but pretty cute!

A Quilt For Gus
We still haven't been to visit Gus yet! I can't wait to hold him! Since I can't cuddle him yet, I sent this baby quilt. It'll have to do for awhile!
I used the Life in the Jungle collection from Riley Blake and made a simple double slice layer cake quilt. Instructions here. Super easy! I did some straight line machine quilting. Not exciting, but it seemed to fit this quilt.

Gus Has Arrived!
Our newest grandson has arrived! I don't usually do much boy sewing but decided to make Gus an outfit to wear for his blessing. I used a lightweight cotton fabric and McCall's pattern #6221.

Six Little Dresses
I decided to make all six granddaughters the same dress for Christmas this year. Here's the dress I designed. The navy dresses are a pinwale corduroy and the light green are a washable velveteen. I think they turned out pretty well!
