Christmas 2013

I made Norah a little Black Apple Doll using the leftover fabric from her last birthday dress.

I thought she might like a little bed for her dolly, so I whipped up a little bed and pillow.

A Little Something For Anna

I've been putting most of my creative energy into Christmas presents so the last few birthdays have been dresses made from patterns.  Here's Anna's birthday skirt.

I wanted to use wool but opted for a heavy cotton flannel so that it could be machine washed (always a plus with children's clothing!) and  I used McCall's pattern # 5459.  The pattern is very easy and has several variations so it's a great value.

Halloween-Better Late Than Never

Halloween was pretty light duty this year.  I made four little tutus and this little witches costume.

Here's the cute little witch!

She's also an artist! Don't you love my portrait on the wall?

Another Jumper!

We have had a single yellow balloon on our dining room floor for almost three weeks now.  It is a leftover from our sweet Darla's birthday.  Darla's family moved a couple of weeks ago and I can not bring myself to pop that balloon!  We miss them!

Here's the birthday dress.

This dress was made from the same pattern as this dress.   I did a regular hem rather than the bubble  hem that was on the previous dress.

I love corduroy jumpers

Another birthday, another corduroy jumper.  I've always love them!

I used  Butterick pattern #4842.  I've used this pattern before here.  It's an easy pattern and always turns out really cute!

Another Birthday

Happy Birthday Lucy!  Here's the dress I made for her.

I used Simplicity pattern # 1596.  I think it's pretty cute!  The pattern was pretty easy if you don't mind lots of gathers.  I did use fabric trim on the bodice rather than the purchased trim that was recommended.

Look's Like I'm Ready For Fall

Ellie's Birthday was last week and here's her dress.  I've loved this black and white corduroy for awhile and finally decided how to use it.

This is a very easy McCall's pattern # 5692.  I made the dress according to the pattern and added  some little belt loops on the side to hold a ribbon.

Clowning Around!

Macy needed a clown costume so I used McCall's pattern # 6142 and made this:

This is a super easy pattern.  I put the seam binding on the outside to add a little color and added a simple bow.

Happy Birthday Macy!

Macy turned three last month and here's the dress I whipped up for her.

I used Simplicity pattern # 2320.  Easy and cute!

Time for the Blogger's Quilt Festival!

Here's my blue and orange quilt.  I sort of made this quilt up as I went along.    I started with a plan but it kept changing!  This was my first attempt at straight line machine quilting on a large quilt.  Let's just say I learned alot!!

Almost Done!

Almost finished with another quilt!

I really learned a lot on this quilt.  This was the original drawing, but it sort of evolved as I worked on it.

Only a little more binding and I'll be done!

I made something for myself!

I really like sewing for myself, but other projects always seem to be a priority.  If I had the time, I would make all my clothes.  I did find a little time this month and made myself a vest out of the leftover fabric from this project.  I still love this fabric!  I used McCall's pattern # 5186.  Loved the pattern, love the vest.

Christmas Skirts

I was a little overwhelmed with the thought of designing and making 6 little Christmas dresses this year so I decided to design one skirt for all the granddaughters!  I ordered some Town and Country little diamonds fabric by Dear Stella in three colors and made matching skirts for the sisters in each family.  Here they are all finished!
