I used Kwik Sew pattern #3921. I added the ruffle at the neck, made the skirt all one fabric, and made a fabric tie to go around the waist. After seeing the dress on Lucy, I probably should have put some little thread belt loops on the side to keep the bow in place!
this is off topic.. I was reading your posts and noticed that you do alot of seamtress work, I'm a fashion design student and would love to be able to do this on the side. Any tips? how do you advertise?
ReplyDeleteHi TifiaGabrielle, My background is in fashion design also, but alterations really pay the bills!! I do not advertise--in fact I have more business than I can handle right now and have a couple of seamstresses that help me out. My biggest client is a wedding and formal dresses store. If you can get a couple of good customers that are happy, the word spreads pretty quickly! Good luck with your business. Let me know if I can answer any other questions.

That is such a cute dress. You can probably add some belt loops now. I love the simple colors, and your model is adorable.
